LITESOURCE LIGHTING CONTROLS SERVICES
LiteSource Lighting Controls Services (Services) are a required part of this project. These Services are designed to ensure the lighting controls system is appropriately planned for, installed, and programed, such that it will meet the design intent and/or Sequence of Operations provided for in the Construction Documents associated with this project.
Understanding the nature of and required lead-times for our Services are essential to executing a successful project. Explanations of these lead-times and types of Services are provided here-in.
MINIMUM LEAD-TIME NOTICE
A minimum of 14 business days is required to schedule a LiteSource Lighting Controls Technician (Technician) to provide Services.
A project stakeholder (Stakeholders), such as the Owner, Owners Representative, General Contractor, Electrical Contractor, etc., is responsible for the complete, accurate and timely submission of a request for Services, to schedule a Technician.
Services can only be scheduled by submitting a Service Request Form to LiteSource. The appropriate form and submission process can be found on the LiteSource website at this link URL: https://www.litesourcenc.com/controls-field-service-request/
Under no circumstances is LiteSource responsible for damages (back-charges, liquidated damages, fees, etc.) charged to the Stakeholders when this minimum 14 business day lead-time is not allowed for in the project timeline.
If Service is required sooner than 14 business days from request, and the request can be accommodated, such a request will incur an Expedited Service charge.
VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON OPTIONS
All of Services, depending on certain circumstances, the lighting controls system being utilized and the requirements of the project, may be performed either Virtually or In-Person. Virtual and In-Person options may be offered for Pre-Installation Meetings, Start-up Services, Return Services, and End-User Trainings.
The determination of what is most appropriate for the project will be made in coordination with the Stakeholders and Technician, to ensure that we can, together, hit the timelines and budgets that best suite the project.
LITESOURCE LIGHTING CONTROLS SERVICES
Pre-Installation Meeting:
A meeting between the Stakeholders and a Technician. This meeting will familiarize the Stakeholders with the lighting controls system provided for this project and include (1) submittal drawings review, (2) product operation and design intent review, (3) discussion of installation requirements and common installation issues to avoid.
Stakeholders are responsible for scheduling this meeting with the Technician prior to the lighting controls rough-in.
Stakeholders must provide the Technician with a physical full-sized, color, submittal drawing or equivalent .PDF file of the drawing at least 48 hours ahead of this meeting.
Start-up Service:
Programming of the lighting control system, by the Technician, per the Sequence of Operation (SOO) provided in the Construction Documents.
Stakeholders that are requesting this Service are responsible for providing an “As-Built Plan Drawing” (As-Built) to the Technician at the at least 48-hours ahead of the scheduled Service.
The As-Built is required to show locations of all devices, including those that are concealed (such as those behind ceiling tiles) and cable-paths as-installed. If serial number stickers or other device identifiers were included with the submittal, or along with the provided devices, such device identifiers should be included on the As-Built.
Documentation related to the site conditions and status of the lighting control system’s functionality will be provided by the Technician to the Stakeholders at the completion of each Start-up Services trip or virtual session. A Stakeholder will be required to sign-off on these documents at completion of the Service.
Services explicitly exclude the following:
Terminating or Re-terminating cables
Sensor Tuning and Sensitivity Adjustments
Any work which requires an Electrical License
Services may not be completed as scheduled or may be terminated at the discretion of the Technician under, but not limited to, any of the following circumstances:
The lighting controls and/or lighting fixture installation is incomplete.
Installation quality is poor and/or not per manufacturer’s installations instructions/submittal drawings.
The Site Readiness has been misrepresented in the Service Request.
Other circumstances beyond the Technician’s control
Return Service:
If the Technician was unable to complete Services due to circumstances beyond the control of the Technician or for any reason cited above, LiteSource will offer the opportunity to have a Return Service quoted and scheduled.
Should a Return Service be necessary, Stakeholders should IMMEDIATELY complete a new Service Request Form and submit it to LiteSource:(https://www.litesourcenc.com/controls-field-service-request/).
Upon receipt of the new Service Request, a quote for the Return Service will be provided to the Stakeholders within 3 business days.
To complete scheduling of the Return Service, a Purchase Order that matches the quote must be provided to LiteSource.
Leadtime for a Return Service is 14 business days from receipt of the Purchase Order. Return Trips required sooner than 14 days may not be possible and, if possible, will incur an Expedited Service charge.
End-User Training:
A meeting between the Stakeholders and the Technician where the key functionalities, Sequence of Operations, and recommendations for how to best utilize the capabilities of the installed system are explained. The objective of this meeting is to ensure that those utilizing the system are aware of its capabilities, functionality and design intent.
I understand these terms and conditions.
